Georgia POST Firearms Qualification Skills Builder - Pistol

Course is for law enforcement officers required to maintain annual firearms qualification in accordance with GA POST rule 464-5-.03.1 titled "Annual Firearms Training." NOTE: This is NOT a POST certified course.
The course provides a thorough examination of the fundamentals of marksmanship while addressing the development of additional shooting & tactical skills necessary for successfully passing the Georgia Semi - Auto Pistol Qualification course. Structured around the qualification standards published by Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T) as outlined in gsac05 the course is specifically designed to improve upon past officer performance.

- Firearms safety
- Fundamentals of marksmanship
- Precision vs practical accuracy
- Shooting fast
- Recoil management
- Multiple threat engagements
- Shooting on the move
- Malfunction identification and remediation
- Establishment of personal reaction times & benchmarks
Gear List:
- Pistol w/holster (strong side, inside or outside waistband is fine). Officers should dress in the manner they will while qualifying for their department i.e. service leather and belt line gear
- 200-250 rounds of factory loaded ammunition
- As many spare magazines as you have (saves on reloading time)
- Eye& ear protection (foam inserts or muffs – electronic muffs recommended)
- Hat with bill & sunblock
- Raingear
- Pen and Paper
- Comfortable clothing and footwear.
- Water or similar for hydration (1 gallon)
