On Feb 17, 2013, I became a confident, prepared, and empowered WOMAN gun owner. I have 2 guns, a Taurus Pro Millenium 9mm and a Glock 17 9mm. I am 5'1". I had been to the gun range a handful of times. I had taken an introductory class at the range. I DO NOT recommend taking an intro class at any gun range. You do not handle a gun until the last hour. Even then one instructor can not instruct 30 people at once inside a gun range. With others firing around you. You just spent 6-8 hrs in a class room with no hands on experience. You leave still feeling scared and unsure. HOWEVER, if you take a class with CMTT you have nothing but HANDS ON personalized, patient, and supportive experience!! Are you afraid of guns? Have you ever held or fired a gun? Do you have a little experience but have questions? Do you just want a refresher class? CMTT answers all your questions! There is no dumb question! CMTT alleviates all your fears. Are you afraid to use a pair of scissors? NO because it's a tool. You were taught how to use this tool. A gun is a tool you can learn to use. Once you know the proper steps to handle a gun there is NOTHING to be afraid of. I walked away from CMTT's training class KNOWING (not feeling) I could take care of myself and my family should the need arise. The gun range will now be a boring place to be. CMTT is FUN! CMTT is EMPOWERING! CMTT is a SAFE environment to learn how to handle yourself and your gun. I can't wait to go back!!
ReplyDeleteOn Sunday Feb. 17th 2013 CMTT (Sean Brogan and Brian Hill) ran an 8 hour outdoor Practical Pistols Fundmentals course for ladies only. There were 8 of us with all different types of experience. This ranged from NO EXPERIENCE to experience in an indoor range only. We started off the day with a Firearms Safety, moved to loading, how to use your sights, drawing, firing, and holstering your weapon. We then moved to the good stuff.....aiming and firing your pistol! They had several different targets for our use. We started with "numbered dots", moved to silhouettes, and ended with steel targets. This 8 hour course covered almost every position (standing, on your back, on your side, on your knees, etc.) and even running and firing at multi targets one handed! My 2 personal favorites were when they set up a "hall way and room" and we had to use concealment and cover. I believed they called that "The Bump in the Night" drill. We had to put 2 rounds each, into 3 different targets and distances! The second one was when they "timed" each person. I believe they called that "The Tueller Drill". We had to remember all safety rules while we speed draw our weapon, fire 2 "center mass" shots, and re-holster our weapon! Some ladies started off not even knowing what a bullet/round looked like and left that day "clearing a house"! This was the best beginners course I have ever been to. I will sign up for the Intermediate CMTT course when it is available! I HIGHLY recommend this class for men and women of all skill levels!!!
